- Music works amazingly well to trigger a chain of thoughts that helps you get into a state of mind and emote accordingly, especially with respect to theatre.
- I am very very dumb in quant.
- There is no correlation, these are just arbit thoughts on my mental dashboard.
- Define success ? If you are at peace with yourself and your life at the end of the day, thats it.
- The legendary 4P's of marketing don't apply to media, there is no price/place releveance, its the promotion and product all the way, in Films especially.
- Don't apply frameworks in solving everything, at times an unstructured mind is the best framework. Try this, it works.
- Tacit knowledge in media is the most relevant tool, there is a bloody difference in making/marketing ball-bearings and movies. When will corporate india understand this?
- Media is getting corporatized, very good, but how do you quantify the creative process, and why do you try to quantify creativity.
- I have not blogged for 5 months, and now too many thoughts in my head, this these ramblings.

Music / Emoting
Random Sample..
I have finished about half of my MBA, and have learnt a few valuable things, more tacit that codifiable i think. I am still firm on my belief of ISB being the best, especially in the ideology behind the entity, and that's good.
Celebrated my birthday last week, and had an amazing time, despite 3 exams, two on the burrday itself, because of my amazing friends here, especially one. Thank you Pupsy!!
Have changed/evolved ( lol..) somewhat i think, people say i am calmer, and i feel older for some reason, and that's kinda good as well.
My learning's in creative arts continue, and am pursuing photography passionately, have acquired more equipment, and enjoy experimenting with it, it is true what they say about the spotlights, that the inner soul is laid bare, i experienced it.
Met some really amazing people by virtue of being here, and one common characteristic in all of them, clarity of thought. Think about this.
Have become one fat monkey :( , and need to get back in shape....infact heading to the gym now, so later....
will be more regular now!
Cheers !

The Dashboard in my Mind
That being said , there are a million things floating in my head.
I just saw Dev D . Feel a crazy kinship with the mythical devdas .wonder why?
My last 3 weeks in pune .Then hyderabad.Somehow mixed feelings .Not as excited as i thought i would be.wonder why?
I have taken up photography.
I hope to get the clutter in my mind sorted in the next 3 weeks.
I don't like the ending of Dev D , the way the screenplay was shaping , AK could have handled it better.I have gone through the exact same mental frame. One incident just does'nt make u normal post that.Takes time.Wat the fuck is normal anyway?
I am extremely amused to see the reaction of people from my school when they hear i am joining ISB. I was blacklisted for assault , indiscipline among other things , and then i failed .I am happy about that phase and i am happy about this one.Its just a question of what you want out of your life , deep down. It gives u just that.
Music used to be my life , and i have'nt touched a instrument since 2006.Thats gonna change.
I am gonna change , i think.
For better or worse.
Only time will tell.

Inspiring
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. "

Moral Police
The New STAR entrant into the already crowded arena of Morality Enforcement is Sri Ram Sena, with their Mangalore show of strength ,where forty or more grown up men attacked a bunch of women, and established their right to defend the 'morality' of Indians. Its not in our culture it seems to go Clubbing.
Before i write more , i want to ask this , in a Free Country , how can anyone set the moral code for me. As long as i am not doing anything that is illegal , according to the law of this country , or directly detrimental to the society ,no one has the right to come and interfere with my freedom , of expressing myself, or living my life.
I , fortunately or unfortunately , personally know quite a few member's of this so called moral police, and upon interactions , have realized that very few of them are clear about what exactly they are safeguarding , and even fewer have the intellectual ability to understand that they are ways and means to forward the vote banks politics.Consider this case , there is a guy champak bhoomiya in your college , he your typical young chap , impressionable , interested in women , wants attention etc.etc , but his reality , of his social and economic circumstances does'nt allow him to indulge , or even be a part of the social scene , or be 'happening' , this leads to this kind of a social frustration , and it is this feeling which is harnessed by the moral police recruitment board. Being a part of say XYZ SENA , firstly Mr. Champak feels worthy , secondly he is getting to went out his anger , thirdly , of course, the much desired attention.
This is at the micro level , at the next level , further up the chain of command , we have our local history sheeter's , who gets a certain social status , and a lil bit of police immunity to practice his bhaigiri.
In this whole system , or ecosystem as one can say , both culture and morality are lost somewhere , another question is that how come its just one day out of the year that it is against the Indian culture to give a rose to a girl , or go out with her , and where are these fucker's when someone is harassing a woman?Or other days of the year . I feel the moral police is more obsessed with Valentine's Day than an average youngster , and in fact, are to be credited with making the day such a big deal in our country .Cheers Guys , amazing strategy !
There is a lot more to write , but you are tired of reading , lol , gist is , these fucker's give us crap because we take it, if i am out with a woman , on valentine's day , or any other , and any body tries to misbehave , well then its either him or me , till the time its only one of us, and collectively , we are immensely more powerful than a bunch of overenthu , frustrated MOFO's , key word being collectively.
So now on , if u see something wrong being done , interfere , lets get outta this old philosophy of none of my business , cause someday it could be you in the frame.
I intend to, at least...
Police the Moral Police.

Indian Obama
I am deeply moved by his inaugural speech , its not just the words , its his passion , i mean you can just see beyond the language the man meant each word that he said, moreover , he really believes in wat he speaks and advocates.
The Indian in me asks , will it ever happen that we will have the option of electing someone as stellar , for the options for the country's leadership that i see for the coming elections make me cry...
I love my country , and firmly believe that steered right , we as a nation have potential to rock the world, literally , just that we need someone with passion , with integrity , with the raw balls to take some hard calls , and get our country on the right track , the path of greatness.
Am Human after all , and its like seeing the neighbor switching tracks towards the best of times, and wishing for that , or better , for my own existence.
Waiting for the Indian Obama.....
Cheers!!!
obama : new era ?
"My fellow citizens:
I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.
Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.
So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.
That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.
These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land - a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.
Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met.
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.
On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.
We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.
In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted - for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things - some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up the long, rugged path toward prosperity and freedom.
For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life.
For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth.
For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sahn.
Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction. This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions - that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.
For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act - not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. And all this we will do.
Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions - who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans.
Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.
What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them - that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works - whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. And those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account - to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day - because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.
Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control - and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our Gross Domestic Product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart - not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.
As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our Founding Fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake. And so to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.
Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.
We are the keepers of this legacy. Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats that demand even greater effort - even greater cooperation and understanding between nations. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people, and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat, and roll back the specter of a warming planet. We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.
For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus - and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.
To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.
To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.
As we consider the road that unfolds before us, we remember with humble gratitude those brave Americans who, at this very hour, patrol far-off deserts and distant mountains. They have something to tell us today, just as the fallen heroes who lie in Arlington whisper through the ages. We honor them not only because they are guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service; a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. And yet, at this moment - a moment that will define a generation - it is precisely this spirit that must inhabit us all.
For as much as government can do and must do, it is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies. It is the kindness to take in a stranger when the levees break, the selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend lose their job which sees us through our darkest hours. It is the firefighter's courage to storm a stairway filled with smoke, but also a parent's willingness to nurture a child, that finally decides our fate.
Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends - hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism - these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility - a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.
This is the price and the promise of citizenship. This is the source of our confidence - the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.
This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed - why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.
So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:
"Let it be told to the future world...that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive...that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet."
America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations."
.......................................................................................................................................
Is this possible in my country...that becoming a leader is not just for the power , n the sake of position , but for an agenda , an ambition , a goal.
Am personally very impressed , and hope i see someone like this take the reins of our nation, in my lifetime.
Cheers Mr.Obama!

Slumdog Millionaire
I saw the movie a few days back , and its edgy feel as well as cinematography is commendable , yet i wonder why none of our guys could capture those key moments , that make this film stand out.
Do we loose perspective when we are in the frame ourselves , possibly , because a third person point of view , and thus his treatment of the script seems to have made all the difference.
I feel happy that Rehman won the Golden Globe , yet amused by this talk of Indian industry getting its due recognition , for its known that Q&A , the book which is the basis for this movie , was floating around in bombay for quite a while , and it had no takers.
Even after Danny Boyle finished the filming , they had trouble finding Distributor's , so much for the foresight of visionaries of my industry , its only after Fox Searchlight and Warner brother's got involved that it saw the light of the day.
I accept that part of the crew as well as the plot is Indian , but thats about it , The Producer , Director , Male lead , are all foreigner's , as well as the exhibitor's , so how is it an achievement for Indian Film Industry i don't quite understand.
I wish in the near future , we make a film , whole and sole indian, which makes sense, critically and commercially , and that it goes to win the international accoldes, and only after that , should we talk about recognition.
I think Indian Media Industry in general needs a remixing, and i want to be a part of thsi movement.
cheers.

Newton's Law of life
Lets correlate this to a life principle.
Your life , and your destiny , will take you just as seriously as you take it.
its a vice-versa kinda equation.
you can replace the word life or destiny with any other word of your choice .
take for example , success , or say your chances of suceeding at something.
The more seriously you take it , the more importance you will assign to it , along with more time, and thus more effort. This in turn, ensures that you become worthy of the entity you desire to attain , or belong to , and thus success.
This logic , by the way holds true for even relationships.
Think about it....
Do u agree with me?

GLOBAL PEACE MARCH
We have done our bit for the Pune leg of the same, and i do hope that my city responds.
i am extremely amused by some experiences i had while organizing this, touched by the tremendous effort and enthusiasm put in by everyone involved , and amazed at the callous and laid back attitude of some very special fucker's we had to interact with...may god bless you with some sense of belonging towards this great nation , and some brains maybe...yeah.
The amazing spectrum of souls and mindsets that coexist here is miraculous...seriously.
Here is a prayer for all of you for whom we are doing this..may your soul rest in peace and may we avenge you , for i hope your sacrifice's were not in vain.
Every blog I see , mentions Mumbai...i hope all these people come out and join in the collective effort , to make a greater difference.
Lets come Alive.
Be the Change you want to see.
God Bless us all.

The peace rally('s)
The most amazing thing about the march ystday was that there was'nt any one group or person organizing it , it was rather different people came in with their own sets and joined it to form the march, and yet it was perfectly synchronised.
10 of us who were mainly assocaited with the logistics of the whole thing have decided to get together and make a social forum so as to ensure continued efforts for this cause , and other relevant social causes. The forum is basically to organize where required , and give support to the existing groups and causes involved in social work.
There is a Global peace March scheduled on the 10th condemning the mumbai attacks and terrorism, happening across all major cities in India and some locations abroad. We are trying to organize the Pune leg for the same.
I wish we Indians come together on this and make our presence , and our anger felt, for the Government and the decision maker's have to realize that they have been sleeping for far too long, and this country just won't take this laid back attitude anymore.
I now believe in this concept of being a proactive citizen, making a difference by doing my job, shouldering my responsibility, and making my voice heard.
I want each one of you to join me in this.
Lets start the journey, and the path will appear.

One India
Ideology being this....we feel angry abt 26/11 , our political leadership is crap, each one of us wanted to be involves in something personally, basically just to express....release the pent up anger...
In this span of 5 hours, i learnt and understood a lot about my fellow indians....
and there is a lot that i want to and am going to say about this,,,,..... bt nt nw....
too many random thoughts, anger, and emotions in my head....
so will write in detail tomoro....about wat was today's experience all about, offshoots, observations, plans and hopes.
I love my country, and my rockstar countrymen, for in essence ...we are essentially a very patriotic lot, which i saw today... even if v need a jolt once in a while to kick start that spirit...
its heart warming seeing a bunch of 16 yr olds organize a rally, some 80 yr olds walking with us all the way, and some 5 yr olds being explained by their mommies why they should be a part of it....
so more details tomoro....
frankly...too overwhelmed right now by the experience...

But i just cannot.
There are a million and one things i want to say , some things i would personally like to do , kill the MOFO's behind this insane and inhuman act, i don't know ....basically to DO something about it , personally.
Till now we used to witness these terror acts like spectator's , maybe with pity, but this is different. every single Indian i have interacted with has this personal anger , this frustration , and this rage about this dastardly act.Its like v saw our country, our national pride getting raped, and the image will stay on........
Being from a Traditional and to the core Army family , i am extremely pained by the kerala CM's remarks, what i want to ask him , sir do u have a son? God forbid , if he's killed is similar circumstances , how will u feel?
This actually shows what kind of political leadership we vote in, and their mindset.
actually another thing i would tell him, Fuck You Sir .... A Chutya NanDan.
For once , i hope my country reacts, and breaks the shackels of the pseudo gandhian, neo eunuch peace philosophy that is making it a sitting duck.
As i said , i am getting revolutionary idea's.
One India.

I don't know how to express this feeling.
24.11.2008

God has a master plan for all of us, we just realize what it is, as the chapter's unfold.
